On this route, you can discover the main “urban fossils” of Cañamero. The trail begins along the main road (Paseo de Extremadura) and ends at the Hotel Rural Villa de Cañamero.
If you examine the building facades, you will notice that some are covered with fragments of very hard, durable rock composed primarily of quartz (sandstones and orthoquartzites). These rocks contain imprints or traces left behind by various organisms—features known as “ichnofossils.”
