Consejo del geoparque

Tue management of the Geopark is the responsibility of Cáceres County Council in close collaboration with all the institutions which have entered into the Collaboration Agreement for the Management of the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara World Geopark of the UNESCO.

The institutions taking part in the management of the Geopark are:

• Cáceres County Council.
• Regional Government of Extremadura.
  • Department of   Sustainability.
  • Department of   Forestry Policy.
  • Department of   Tourism.
  • General Secretariat of Desarrollo Rural.
  • General Secretariat of Education.
  • Department of Cultural Heritage.
  • General Secretariat of Employment.
• University of Extremadura.
• Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Association of Municipalities.
• Local Action Group APRODERVI.
• Association of Tourist Companies of the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Geopark,Geovilluercas.
• The Geological Association of Extremadura, AGEX.

All of them undertake to comply with the objectives and promote the activities from the Council of the Geoparque. Moreover, they participate in a Territorial Commission, the duties of which include the monthly follow-up of the decisions made by the Council.

The presidency of Cáceres County Council occupies the presidency of the Geopark and is supported by a technical structure consisting of technical and scientific personnel of the associated entities.
