As the Cave of Castañar is an extremely fragile environment it can only be seen by means of a strict system of visits. To go on the guided tour to the interior of the cave you must put your name down on a visitors’ list; send an e-mail to: cueva.castanar@juntaex.es
Applications for visiting will be accepted from 1st April each year.
The period of visits is from 1st May to 30th September (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays).
Applications must be made by natural persons. Each person can make a single application per year for a maximum of five people.
As an alternative the Interpretation Centre offers the possibility of getting to know the cave in a virtual manner.
The Interpretation Centre can be reached by both cars and coaches and has its own car park. The exhibition rooms are accessible for people with special needs.
The guided tour of the “Cave of Castañar” Natural Monument consists of accompanying the user during his/her visit to its interior and the interpretation of its characteristics. This visit will be made in groups of no more than 5 people plus the guide and will last approximately 50 minutes.
